Microsoft OneNote - An exploration of the potential for teaching and learning: Two STHM teachers' journey into leveraging Microsoft OneNote as an effective presentation and note-sharing tool

As long-time PowerPoint users Moira and Ian moved lecture notes to OneNote for one semester and began to see how OneNote’s structure, plus flexibility supports fluid, interactive presentations. There were other benefits. All class notes were easily shared through one synced link to OneNote through Moodle. Students received lecture note updates which were easily viewed on laptops, tablets and phones. The pilot shows the potential, plus some of the detractors for OneNote users at Royal Roads. Students report their experiences and answer if it helped to learn more effectively. Moira and Ian share some of the ups and downs of Microsoft OneNote and why they plan to continue to use it.
