  • Welcome to the School of Education and Technology

    The Link is the first step on your journey through the RRU Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design and Graduate Certificate in Technology-Enhanced Learning and Design programs. Our goal is for you to gain some understanding about the program, the university, and each other, prior to starting your first course (IDSN521).

    It is our expectation that you will have completed all activities in The Link according to the dates set out in the The Link Schedule.

  Week 1

  • Welcome to Week 1 of The Link.

    • This week you will learn to use web-conferencing tool Zoom, and you will start getting a sense of who you are as a group as you build and grow your learning community.
    • You will also be re-orienting yourself to Moodle, which is the learning management system (LMS) used at RRU. The activities outlined in The Link Schedule will help you to do this. Note: We expect that by now you will have been introduced to Moodle via the self-guided RRU Orientation course the LaunchPad.
    • Another key focus this week is to help you orient to the various resources and supports available to you as an RRU learner. We have pulled them all together in the Resources page, so that you have them in one place.

    The purpose of this forum is to provide support in conducting research for your annotated bibliography activity. Librarian Will Meredith will join the class and be online during office hours, on Monday January 24, Tuesday January 25 and Wednesday January 26. During these dates, Will is available to offer support, to share tips and tricks on searches, and to answer any questions you may have about your individual or team research.

  • Welcome to Week 2 of The Link. This week we are going to continue our exploration of the various resources and supports available to you as RRU learners, and spend some time continuing to build and connect our community. You will also be working in groups to complete (from Week 1) Activity 3: Creating an Annotated Bibliography of Virtual Team Resources, which will be a great asset to you as you move forward in your program.
