Welcome to ECEL-5 Responsive Pedagogical Approaches in ECE!
There are six separate sections within this Moodle site, including:
- Welcome, and introduction Describes the background and purpose of the course and further defines and establishes the resource’s parameters.
- Module 1: Examining Early Childhood Education: Historical and Contemporary Theory and Practice Explores inherited practices in ECE by examining the theories, policies, and cultural norms that shape the field.
- Module 2: Leading Through Practice - Contemporary Pedagogical Practices and Frameworks Explores contemporary pedagogical approaches to creating authentic, inclusive, and socially just early learning environments.
- Module 3: Fostering Pedagogically Responsive Curriculum Examines responsive environments, co-inquiry, and co-learning to create child-centred curricula while using critical reflection and the B.C. Early Learning Framework to support pedagogical change.
- Course Wrap-upOffers a course summary highlighting key learnings and a curated list of references related to the course content.
- Assessment: Includes the final assignment, which allows you to demonstrate what you’ve learned in the course.
Accessing the sections and modules in sequence is critical as the materials and activities are designed to be scaffolded to support your success and optimize your learning experience.
