Find places in a specific area

Google Maps has great search features to help you locate organizations in a specific location.  You can narrow your search by indicating the type of organization you want to find.

To find organizations near an area of interest on your computer:

  1. In a browser, open Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or address (Saanich Municipal Hall is used in this example).
  3. Click Nearby Search nearby.
  4. In the search bar, enter keywords of the type of organization you want to find, like "environmental non-profit" and press enter.

Google Maps will indicate locations with red pins on the map and show a listing of organizations down the left side of the screen.  If available, contact information and website links are also included in this listing.
