Course Summary
As you have learned throughout this course, creating contextual, responsive leadership practices and approaches that support individuals as well as co-create a culture of collectivity within the context of your early years space requires intentionality and ongoing processes. Having an awareness of the myriad of interconnected systems that co-compose individuals and communities (human and other-than-human) allows leaders to enter into relationships with greater empathy, critical and expansive lenses, as well as shape a groundwork for cultivating essential dispositions such as openness, curiosity, and collaboration.
Rooting in intention creates the conditions for meaningful and critically reflective practices, empowering leaders to observe and respond holistically to children, colleagues, families, and broader communities. Articulating and making these intentions visible through a commitment statement informs and invites others to engage in lively dialogues, further supporting relational leadership approaches by welcoming this ongoing cyclical process.
