Summary Module Two
Summary: Module Two
In the first module, we spent some time reflecting deeply on what inclusivity means personally in your work with children and families. In Module Two, we looked at the environment and its impact on children both inside and outside your centre. We have asked ourselves what kind of environment we want to create. From the policies that we set to the message we then send to families as they enter the spaces with you. Continue to look at the maps that you have created. They are a good tool to revisit in your continued work with children and families. Visiting your community as you become familiar with the plants, animals, and non-human connections gives educators and children the time to think about how we practice reciprocity in our daily lives. Continue to ask yourself how relationships and programs reflect our values of care.
How might educators show they care and create healthy mindsets in ourselves and in the children we work alongside each day?
Revisit your inclusive vision from module one, and capture your reflections in your journal:
- What do you think now?
- Is there anything you would change now?
We invite you to share your understanding and questions in a meeting, staff room or conversation. Articulating your ideas is important as a manager to encourage everyone to work together. Consistency of practice is one way to cultivate an environment of safety.
