Summary: Module Three

Looking back on the course and your reflections, how might you write your philosophy of inclusion? Thinking of your image of the child, a mindset of yes, planning for your environment and your image of the family. We must think about including staff in our thinking.

Practicing gratitude

One way to create an environment of care and support is to recognize children, families and educators. Everyone likes to feel recognized and valued. In the Exchange Every Day, Garboden Murray shares:

"The reciprocal nature of care is to look for ways to amplify thanks throughout the workday of teaching and caring…believes that modeling thanks throughout the day has a transformative power to shape cultures where people really care for one another." (2022)

How did this exercise affect someone's day? What did you notice as a result of your expressed gratitude?

Share one idea that you learned about inclusion from your colleagues in your journal. Think about the many notions that were touched on throughout this course. What was one takeaway from the conversations, discussions or as a result of your own awareness and gratitude?
