Assignment Purpose

You are expected to explain each theory and offer a detailed explanation on the strengths and limitations of each theory selected. Your team will be presenting your response to the class during residency. The presentation should be no longer than 10 minutes. You are expected to provide a PowerPoint presentation (or similar- Presi...).

Requirements

The two central aims of this assignment are to have you research and acquire theoretical knowledge new to you, and to work effectively and positively in a team format to accomplish a defined set of outcomes as identified below:

  • assess the merits and challenges associated with each leadership theory by reviewing at least  three independent sources (not including the course textbook) for each theory,
  • apply appropriate research methods to find and critically evaluate each source,
  • apply appropriate APA format and notations,
  • prepare and present a 10-minute session to share the case study- issues identified, each leadership theory to highlight the key tenets of the theory, include the theory’s merits and challenges as identified in the three independent sources, and identify the theory’s applicability in today’s post-secondary institutions, and,
  • prepare and submit a 500 word summary (maximum length) of each assigned leadership theory including the theory’s merits and challenges as identified by the three independent sources and the application of each to the case study.

Both the written and the presentation portions of the assignment are due before the presentation begins.

The assignment is worth 30% and is due prior to the presentation being given. Presentation will be on Monday, July 31st  and Tuesday, August 1st  during residency.
