The intention of this unit is to help you explore the different aspects of your experience to uncover valuable skills, knowledge or experience you have gained.

We break this down into the following activities:

  • Document It
  • Be Your Own Cheerleader
  • Explore Your Teamwork Competencies & Skills (Exploratory only)
  • Explore Your Employability Capital (Exploratory Search only)

Here are some areas to consider when you think about what you have learned or gained:

  • Skills Development: Did you acquire new skills or refine existing ones, such as leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, or project management?
  • Professional Development: How can your experience be incorporated into your resume or support your career goals?
  • Professional Network: Did you connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions? Keep in touch to expand your network.
  • Community Impact: Reflect on how your work positively affected the community or organization.
  • Personal Growth and Satisfaction: How did your experience contribute to your personal growth?  Have you noticed you have increased confidence, empathy, or resilience?
  • Cultural Learning OpportunitiesEmbrace the new ideas, cultures, and perspectives encountered through volunteering, enhancing your cultural competency.
