Reflecting on Leadership Qualities

Find a quiet, comfortable space to reflect.

Think about a leader or mentor who positively impacted your life. This could be a teacher, manager, coach, or even a family member.

Consider the following questions as you reflect:

  • What specific qualities or traits did this person have that you admired?
  • How did they make you feel valued or supported?
  • What actions or behaviours made their leadership stand out to you?
  • How did their leadership style influence your personal or professional growth?
You are encouraged to keep a journal throughout this course to document your thoughts and ideas and revisit them over time to support your reflection.

  • Jot down your reflections in a journal or on a sheet of paper. Be as detailed as possible, including examples of moments or interactions that stood out to you
  • Reflect on how these admired qualities align with your own leadership practices.
Ask yourself:

  • Are there qualities you already embody?
  • Where are areas for growth?
