This module helps you prepare to connect with your professional community—whether you're just starting or expanding your network. Key steps for success include:

  • Know yourself: Understand your strengths, values, interests, and career goals
  • Use tools: Get familiar with Royal Roads Alumni, LinkedIn, and networking formats like info meetings and professional events
  • Ask thoughtful questions: These lead to more meaningful conversations

Networking is personal. Large events or social media aren't for everyone. Choose approaches that feel authentic to you.

Tip: Begin with curiosity. Instead of asking, “What can I get?” ask, “How can I add value?”—whether that’s sharing a resource, insight, or connection.
