Create a 26-Week Challenge to connect and grow your community. Transfer names from your list to the Challenge Worksheet and track who you’ve contacted, how, and when.

Develop 26 specific actions to take each week. Include steps for follow-up and think about how you can be helpful. Strategic volunteering is a key activity to boost your credibility, expand networks, and increase job referals.

Completing the Challenge

You can fill in your 26 steps now or as you progress. Here are some examples:

Week 2: Create conversation starters
Week 3: Reach out to three connections on LinkedIn
Week 4: Connect with an alum via Royal Roads Alumni
Week 7: Schedule two in-person conversations or information meetings
Week 9:
Attend a virtual webinar

Use timelines and accountability tools like calendars, spreadsheets, or online databases to stay on track (here is an example). Schedule weekly check-ins with a trusted person.

Commitment & Consistency

The 26-Week Challenge is a long-term commitment to evolve over six months. Choose a start date, stick to your actions, and refer to the Exploring My Community module for networking tips.
