Intro to Weeks 7 & 8

Over these 2 weeks, you will design and build an authentic assessment activity that uses at least one of the social media and web 2.0 tools reviewed in Assignment 2. You will prepare a project plan for the activity before building it and develop a method of assessment for the activity. Journal about your experiences, as well as collect artifacts from the production process for use in your portfolios. Once completed, the assessment activity will be added to the community-wide repository as an exemplar. Please refer to Assignment 3 for more details.

Weeks 7 & 8 Activities
Assignment 3: Building a Learning and Assessment Activity - These are your final two weeks working with the scenario we started in week 3. Assignment 3 asks you to plan and build an authentic learning and assessment activity for a course that already exists or for one that you are developing. You will be using the community-wide repository to help you choose an activity and the appropriate technology to support it. You are encouraged to build an activity that you did not use for your tech sheet in week 2 &3 using tools that you did not review in weeks 5 & 6. Use Herrington ch. 6 & 7 to guide the development of the activity and assessment method. Revisit the case studies in Palloff and Pratt, as they provide good examples to use while developing your plan.Your finished activity will be added to the community-wide repository and critiqued in week 9.
Class Forum: By the end of week 7, post your plan to the class discussion: review other posted plans and provide feedback to at least one other student about their plan.
ePortfolio: Continue to add artifacts to your site, some possibilities from weeks 7 & 8 include the following:
- A description of the course and learning outcomes for the activity
- Draft stages of the development plan
- A competed plan
- Screen shots of the activity at various stages of development
- Feedback from peers
- The completed final activity
