In this module, you learned that childcare administration in British Columbia involves overseeing regulatory compliance, policy development, financial management, and human resources and ensuring high-quality care aligned with centre philosophies and evidence-based practices. 

Leaders balance administrative tasks with on-the-floor responsibilities, requiring intentionality to stay connected with children, families, and staff. Governance varies across childcare types, each with unique operational and business models. 

Regulatory bodies, such as the Ministry of Education and Child Care and the Ministry of Health, play key roles in setting standards, licensing facilities, and supporting programs. Resources such as the BC Early Learning Framework and the Early Childhood Educator Occupational Competencies guide quality care practices, emphasizing children's rights, reconciliation, and inclusivity. 

Leaders must also navigate municipal bylaws, licensing requirements, and professional standards while fostering collaboration, advocacy, and continuous professional development in their centres.
