Racism in BC

Orienting ourselves within the larger politics of practicing on stolen and occupied territories.

In 2021, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives released this open-source publication. Co-authored by activists and scholars from diverse communities, this resource traces the history of racism in British Columbia while representing 150 years of resistance from racialized peoples.

As you read this, practice the skills and strategies you have learned in this course, breathe, stay curious, hold compassion for yourself as a learner, and step forward with courage.

Commit to using your power and privilege to reject practices of care and learning that remain ignorant of ongoing injustice, inequity, and systemic racism.
